Petrov & Kovalinen put on best show so far in Valencia sunshine


Vitaly Petrov & Heikki Kovalainen had their best runs in the Caterham cars at this weekends' European Grand Prix in Valencia.

For the first time this year, Heikki made it into the second round of qualifying on Saturday, knocking out both of the Torro Rosso cars in the process. The team then made the decision not to run, however, choosing to preserve their tyres for Sunday's race.

It was the highest grid start for the team so far this season with Heikki starting in 16th and Vitaly in 20th.

Big trouble in little China

 

The surprises keep on coming in this years' F1 season with Nico Rosberg finally recording his first Grand Prix win at the 111th attempt.

Starting from pole position and barring pitstops, he led from start to finish, beating Jenson Button into second position by over 25 seconds, with team mate Lewis Hamilton finishing third.

Up until now, the Mercedes cars have been harder on their tyres than some of their rivals but, this weekend, they turned things around and finished with one less pitstop than the McLaren and Red Bull teams.

Caterham F1 improve in Malaysia

 

This weekend in Malaysia saw one of the most dramatic and surprising Grand Prix in recent memory. With former world champion, Alfonso Fandango (that's Fernando Alonso, to you) taking a 'surprise' victory for Ferrari and relative rookie, Sergio Perez, taking an even bigger suprise second spot in his Sauber.

New Caterham F1 team off to a difficult start

 

As the team is based in Norfolk, Caterham F1 has only marginally more to do with Caterham than Roman Abramovic has to do with Rome but, as the team bears our town's name; and the parent company owns Caterham's most famous business (no disrespect to you, lads), supporting them in this years' campaign is the very least Caterham Round Table could do.
